Another LitFest has come to an end. With the dozens of authors and over 20 events, LitFest 2017 was a tremendous success.
Audiences enjoyed the wisdom of human rights scholar Payam Akhavan who called for compassion in a world filled with misunderstanding and hate. Science storyteller Britt Wray took us into the fascinating world of reviving extinct species. We filled workshops with people eager to develop their own non-fiction writing skills, and at our food events, we broke bread and listened to important insights from a diverse group of writers.
There were many more wonderful events this year, events that were only possible through the generous support of many individuals and organizations.
First and foremost, we’d like to thank our volunteers who dedicated hundreds of hours to making this year’s festival a success. We would also like to thank our volunteer board of directors who offered their guidance every step of the way. We thank LitFest authors who travelled from across North America to share their knowledge with audiences and we’re grateful for the many local and national organizations that helped to promote individual events.
LitFest would not exist without the support of our funders, sponsors, and event partners:
Above all we would like to thank you, festival attendees, for coming out to events, purchasing books, offering donations, and spreading the word far and wide.
We look forward to future festivals which will continue to be a platform for some of the most important conversations of our time.
