LitFest is thrilled to help celebrate the launch of Laberinto Press’ fifth anthology, Beyond the Concert Hall: An Anthology of Sound, curated by Luciana Erregue-Sacchi, Catalina Morales Vélez, and Cait Yaga. The event will highlight the healing potential of sound in health, familiar, and community settings. The event would also coincide with Canadian Intensive Care Week 2026, aimed at recognizing the dedication of ICU teams and raising awareness of critical care services across Canada.
“Beyond The Concert Hall is the grand finale of the Beyond the Senses Series, a groundbreaking exploration of sound and its central role in our lives and memories.”
Bev Ross, one of the anthology contributors, and long-time former staff of Artists in the Wards will receive the audience with harp sounds as attendees purchase books. Once the audience is in, we will commence with the event. After the readings, there will be room for a few questions from the audience and thanks from the editors. More time for cocktails, book purchases, socializing.
All the readings touch gently on aspects of sound connected to healthcare, family, and community settings, from Edmonton, to Egypt, Scandinavia, and beyond.
This event is presented in partnership with Laberinto Press
