Tickets are $15 in advance through Eventbrite, $20 at the door, subject to availability. This event is presented in partnership with Simon & Shuster Canada, EPL, and Audreys Books. Susan Orlean has been a staff writer at The New Yorker since 1992. She is the author of seven books, including Rin Tin Tin, Saturday Night, and The Orchid Thief, which was made into the Academy Award–winning film Adaptation. She holds a MLIS from the University of Alberta and a BA with Honours in English from Acadia University. Pilar is very active in the library community, and currently serves on several boards nation-wide, including chairing the Canadian Urban Libraries Council and serving on the Public Lending Rights Commission.
