Don Mailhot

Don Mailhot has Cree-French Métis roots, has ancestral ties to Red River on his paternal side, and is a member of the Métis Nation of Alberta living in Treaty Six territory. His family comes from the Slave Lake region of Northern Alberta in Treaty Eight. A storyteller, writer, and musician, Don enjoys experimenting with art as therapy to help overcome PTSD and mental health struggles. Don is committed to learning language, culture and connecting with community.
