Rona Altrows is a fiction writer, essayist, editor, and playwright who believes that books play a critical role in the fight for social justice and the quest for personal fulfillment. Anxious Kid Makes Pretty Good: A Neurodivergent Writer on Life and Writing, written over the course of a number of years, is her first book of essays. She is the author of three books of short stories, including At This Juncture, and has edited or co-edited four theme-based anthologies, including You Look Good for Your Age, a collection on women, aging, and ageism. Her work has appeared in Queen’s Quarterly, Isele Magazine, Beyond Touch Sites, and many other publications. Her honours include the Jon Whyte Memorial Essay Prize and the W.O. Mitchell Book Prize. Rona was also awarded the 2025 Prairie Grindstone Prize for her body of work and her commitment to supporting both emerging and established writers.
